Found this online tonight so I thought I would share. I would really like to build my own aviary soon!

That is beautiful. If you build your own, you can customize it to your specific needs, that's awesome. I think my husband needs a new project

I have been thinking of doing this - have the armoire, but it feels a bit overwhelming. I was thinking of just getting some cages, but I really don't like the look of them. I need to just do it! Are you starting one soon?

I love it, great job!! For those who are wanting to try, I promise, it's easier than you'd think. Tearing it down is the scariest part! I did it with a huge corner entertainment center, and it's just so fun.

So sorry, just noticed this! I do indeed have pictures, and video.

The picture with the red Border Collie is from the first week I had it up and running- the old curtain on top was to drape down at night to help them visualize the plexi. The second picture is clearly not focused on the aviary, rather on our big gooberhead bulldog, but it shows the little finch-themed 'curtain' I had to install. The light inside the aviary is extremely bright, and the birds like to fly high so I couldn't put anything solid INSIDE the aviary to block it. I had to resort to putting something on the outside so that I could watch the birds without getting a headache!

It's about 8-9ft tall and weighs a million pounds, but I needed something totally solid because of the dogs. It has two small access doors on the bottom for daily food/water changes and bedding replacement, and the back two walls covered by the bamboo blinds are actually huge doors. I sewed a fabric and velcro 'door' on the back that I can put the top half of my body through and cinch around my waist so I can do in-depth things inside the aviary- catching birds, replacing foliage, hanging nests, etc- without any danger of escapees. I've had zero issues so far, and I absolutely love it!
