Aw, he looks like a Walter!
Gosh, is he lovely! You don't see singers with his coloring all too often. So pretty!
And what's this?!??
Steve is a GIRL?!?
That's just....that's just wrong!
Steve is totally a BOY! He can't be a girl!
I refuse to believe it. Maybe he's just a girly boy?
Did you check for a nub? (No molestation required; just a well-positioned blow of air.)
I have a hard time accepting genders at times. Sometimes they just look and act like a particular gender.
We have a male cat named Eliza. We thought she was a girl....until one day, I saw nuttage, about a month after we rescued her. I'd known her as a girl since she showed up as a tiny feral kitten, so it just stuck.
I couldn't change her name; it's so fitting. I can't really call her a boy either. It just feels wrong. She's no longer fully female to me, though... somewhere between male and female, much more toward the female end.
I hope Walter hits it off with Kari and Steve!
Hopefully they'll get along nicely!
I'm sorry to hear he was having a hard time adjusting to the flock.
It's a unique set-up for sure! I can see how it would be difficult for a bird that's only ever been in a cage. Having all this freedom, with all these birds and all their politics, including different species. That's a lot of adjustment!
And I'm sure his unfamiliar flight patterns aren't helping if he's spooking the others, as I bet it becomes a circular cycle -- Walter gets spooked, then spooks the other birds, which spook Walter even more, which spooks the others even more and before you know it, you've got a room of frantic birds who've scared the hell out of each other for no apparent reason!
