:'( So sorry.

He is now playing with my sweet little Socie babies, doing loops in the clear blue sky where the sun shines bright, and the soft winds blow sweet.

Oh my gosh, I'm soooo sorry about your loss. I've been keeping up with your thread and when I saw how his balance was so bad, it reminded me of Lady right before her "stroke"...if that's what it was. Her imbalance didn't start out slowly like your boy, but I saw it start just before she went into seizures. It was very similar but the seizure came on quickly and then lasted on and on... I hope your boy is flying with my Lady Blue (because she was very pretty and he will notice it right off)
There seems to be a few of these "heart attacks" or "strokes" happening this week on this forum. I will surely be watching ALL of my birds more closely since this has happened and maybe we will all learn something from these terrible incidents. Prayers for you and your little fella...

Oh no!
I'm so sorry, Karen.
I was really hoping he'd pull through. I was optimistic because he was still eating. I was hoping he could beat it or at least live an imperfect but good quality life for the long term. What a bummer. He was so beautiful.

At least he spent his last days with his friends, in his home, where he obviously felt very comfortable.

Rest in peace and fly free, beautiful little lavender boy.

lovezebs@Jen@MiaCarter, Thanks :) I know he is flying easy now, and I'm sure he's flirting with all the pretty girls, because he does draw attention that way.

I don't know what his final moments were like. I worked until noon today, and when I got home I found him laying nest to the feeder. His body was still supple, but cold. He may not have been gone long. I almost wish I were there when he passed, but kind of glad I wasn't. As I picked him up, he felt so soft and sleek. His keel bone wasn't sticking out as if he had lost much weight, but some. I'm not sure how much he was actually ingesting, but he spent a good part of the time foraging around.

His hen went a little crazy after I took him out, like she was looking for him. I'd like to find her a friend, even if it is another female. I feel really bad, because I had the two males originally which were such buds, and finally brought myself to trade one for the hen so that I could have a true pair, and now this. Just doesn't seem fair.

These things are never fair hon. My only comfort in these situations, is knowing that they are no longer suffering.

So sorry you lost him. I was hoping since he started eating again that he might improve. At least he was back with his friends.
