Maybe your birds are too young and because it’s their first time this happened. What kind of nest are you using? Try to use the external box kind, this kind it’s very deep so it’s difficult that the chicks can fall.

Sounds like alien in the nest syndrome.

Some young birds do not understand that there is a creature inside the egg that they have incubating, and think it's an alien invader in the nest when it hatches. They don't want that squermy thing in the nest.

Give them time and they should get past it. If they don't you may want to consider hand feeding or fostering the chicks when they hatch.

If the Societies aren't sitting on eggs already, they usually won't start feeding a newly-hatched baby. If the Zebras are tossing, it never hurts to try the Societies, they may be the exception. Otherwise, you are left with handfeeding, but that is difficult. I think the Zebs will catch on.

Sorry to hear the babies were tossed. They'll just have to try again. If you want the societys to raise them, just put the zebra eggs in a nest with them. One egg everyday till you have a clutch.
