The enjoyment that we get from our birds

Post by MariusStegmann » Sat Jan 03, 2015 3:12 pm

This morning I woke up a bit after 5 am and went outside, sat down on a chair and watched my birds for half an hour. It was not yet fully light, but the birds were going on. I thought on how relaxing it is to watch the birds in the aviary. People talk on how relaxing it is to watch fish in a fishtank, but I prefer the birds. A great peacefulness come over me when I watch the antics of my birds.

It's very relaxing for me as well, and watching them like that gives you an idea of well they are doing and if something a miss!

I love to watch my 2 zebra finches, it's so relaxing and interesting~

But I am just finishing hand-feeding a Gouldian finch, and it astounds me~
she is just like a miniature teeny kitten or puppy.....wants to do what I'm doing, not afraid of a thing. Interested in everything.
I want another adorable little guy/girl!
Can Zebras be like this?
Should I try to find another just-born rescue baby bird?
Is it the breed or the rearing?
Finches are just so tiny and dear~
Thanks~
MJ

I know what you mean Marius. There are times during the day, when I'll sit down with a cup of tea, and just lose myself in watching them going about their busy little lives. Very often they make me laugh. Other times, sitting with a handfull of warm soft baby chicks cradled in the palms of my hands, I feel awed by the miracle of life.

Yes agreed 100%, really awesome to watch, especially when they develop the birds own personality and do some crazy stuff, my male is like that, he is indeed a crazy critter. Fun to watch, good to unwind and "Zebout and chill"

There are several threads about Uno, just do a search for Uno, with afinch as the author, you should be able to find them easily. Uno is an absolutely adorable tame Zebra baby!

I have both finch in aviary and fish in aquarium, so I get the best of both worlds :)
if possible I'd like to put in a tank in the aviary so the two worlds can see each other (the tank is closed with a lid of course)
