Is full-spectrum lighting important for my finches? And what is the best choice of bulbs?
Thank you for any recommendations:)

Yes, the full spectrum lighting gives the finches the Vitamin D3 they require to process the Calcium in their diet. Also, proper lighting aids with breeding as they birds see on the ultraviolet spectrum, so they are better able to ID their mates and species. I use various UVA/UVB bulbs, such as; Featherlite from ladygouldian.com and Zoomed Avian bulbs and some generic brands sold at PetSmart.

Zoomed makes wonderful products. I currently switched over to the zilla slimline 18" tropical florescent...kit. It has the same-ish wavelengths as the zoomed reptisun 5.0 bulbs. It was cheaper to get the zilla brand. Not sure how it works yet but I'm sure it's the same.
