What is your favorite species of finch and why?

I would have to say the American Pied Society is my favorite species. They are the unsung hero of the finch world. They are typically great parents, and will foster just about any other finch with out thinking twice about it. They get along great with all other species. They are very hardy little buggers to boot. Often in our aviaries they are the first to try any new food, or check out something new to the flight. They also make great role models for young birds to emulate. Last but not least. . .Each one is like a snow flake in that no two are identical.
