Bathing beauties
Sorry for the mesh over the flight, but those little goldbreasted waxbills are super tiny. Makes for a less than ideal photo or video op, but you can still see who is who.

Real cuties. I love watching my birds bath. Different methods for different birds. Some jump right in and get dripping wet, others pop their beak in the water, and make a big production of puffing and fluttering and fluffing, just hilarious.
Now let's see. I could make out Lavenders, black caps (?) , a gold breast, red biil fires.... not certain of the rest.

Love your video and your beauties! Happy birds...it's obvious. Great job!
What is on the floor of your flight? I have purchased a bale of "straw" around Halloween season that I use in my garden. (which I have a bale in my garage) but wasn't sure if I could use it in my flight or outdoor aviary.
Lookin' good girl! Congrats on beautiful, HAPPY birds!

Aw, aren't they lovely!
You have such a pretty array.
Did I see that you got another Lavender? (It was near the beginning when I thought I saw two?)
Those are perfect little dishes. I love how everyone flocked down to them at once!
"Hot damn! Bathtime!"
I wish my guys would bathe! My lot only do head/chest dunks for the most part.
I kept noticing that the water kept going down in the cage with Felicity (weaver) and Felix (PT Wydah).
Sure enough I spotted Felix hopping in the cup and bopping around in the water with delight! (While doing his lovely little twitterings, which surprised me! I've never heard them sing while bathing!)
So I take that back. I have 1 bird out of 20+ who bathes! LOL

Yes, I picked up another lavender, but I'm not sure I have a true pair. I suspect I have two girls this time. I can't win.
I don't think I have a single bird that does not like to bathe. They usually are in the water by the time I click the latch on the door.

Oh, and that is orchard grass on the bottom. Sometimes I use Timothy hay, but the orchard grass is finer and softer. They like to forage around in it. I toss goodies in there for them to find.

Lovely birds. They look so cute. What type of cage is that? Seems you modified it. Do you have more pictures of it?

Re: Bathing beauties
It is a cube 4x4x4. I found it at an exotics place. I think it was originally meant for small monkeys but it works very well for finches because it is the same bar spacing. But when I have gold breast babies I have to cover with screen or something because they are just so tiny and can fly right thru.
