Bird Photos!!! My Beauties!

It was such a beautiful day today after all the rain we've had, I had to take a few photos of my birds enjoying the sunshine. It is so funny to see them when the weather turns sunny! They feel the same as I do....they sing, fly around and overall seem so much happier!

Some photos of my juvenile gouldians eating greens. Also my baby Gold Breast resting in a little corner of the aviary. All four are doing well....so far....I found a nest of Red Cheek CB on a nest again. Couldn't tell how many eggs in the nest yet. Also found the Diamond Doves get very well "acquainted" with each other....tis the season!!!

I've been keeping a piece of lumber under some trees to rot so it would attract some "treats" for my Red Cheek CB's. They watch me when I walk into the aviary with that piece of wood, then swoop down before I get past the door!

They are one of my favorites also. I found the pair on another nest tonight! At least this time they didn't wait for the coldest day of the year to have babies. Maybe they will have more success with this beautiful weather we are having.

I did have to put enclose part of my aviary again because of the spring winds that are coming in with the change of the season, but so far everyone is getting used to the changing temps. Even the tiniest gold breast babies are doing well. Keeping my fingers crossed and asking the finch angles to watch over all these new babies!

I always enjoy seeing other people's birdlings.
Is that a little frog on your plant?

I love the idea of the rotting piece of wood. How long have you kept it, to get goodies growing on/in it?

Oh, by the way, what kind of greens are on the menu? Are those some sort of wild grasses? I can't tell from the picture.

The green grass seeds/weeds are some I cut around the side of my office building and near the ditch at the street. I knew it was safe because they never used pesticides there. The birds LOVED it! I plan on getting some more for them today. My friends at the office think I'm crazy!!! LOL

lol, Jenny, at least I'm not the only crazy one, constantly collecting stuff for my birds. I have people going : um, ah-ha... , when I tell them about it.
