Happiness

Post by MariusStegmann » Thu Mar 26, 2015 4:14 am

In my home language language, we would say, "Geluk by die ongeluk" Which roughly translates to good fortune after misfortune. Yesterday, a cat killed one of my birds and wounded another, today, I found that one of my diamond firetail chicks has fletched, some of my star chicks has hatched and that my yellow gouldians has 4 eggs. Also the wounded canary has stopped bleeding and looks to be fine.

I'm glad for you Marius.
Happiness, comes into our lives just like sadness, but being human beings, we tend to remember the sadness more , don't know why.....

Congratulations on the Doves, Stars and upcoming Gouldians :-D and I do hope your Canary makes a full recovery.

Great news Marius! Your birds are on a roll again :D

And sorry about the cat and losing a bird. Strays are a pain in the butt :(

Rox The cat is definitely not a stray. It is someone's well looked after cat. You can only teach a cat to leave your birds alone if it is your cat, otherwise nature and instinct takes over. Even my 2 dogs can stare at a fledgeling bird for hours if they are sitting close to the mesh. If I can't find the babies, I just look at the dogs. Thx for setting my mind at ease yesterday. I went to look at my Peter Twinspot male again this morning, and there he was digging in the ground, it is like someone flipped a switch and now he is digging around on the ground instead of cowering in a corner like he did for months.

Marius, so happy your twinspot boy is settling down and just being a bird again. Funny little chickens aren't they :D
