delray...I am itching to set them up...but dread the work involved. If I wasn't working, it would be a no brainer! But with my work schedule it is difficult. And if I have to hand feed AGAIN...YEESH!!!

Aunt Ginene yeah that's tough. I know how much work you had to do with Bernie. Don't forget you still have Max and the fosters to help you.

Ginene

Hi Ginene.
If I had the room, I probably would hang on to as many as I could, but life is what it is, and my tiny kitchen is not planning on getting bigger any time soon, and so...

My way of thinking about it (which makes it bearable), is that there are other people out there, who should have a chance of having sweet birdlings in their lives. My birds have enriched my life, I hope my babies will do the same for someone else.

It's always so hard to give any of them up. A few weeks ago, knowing I had eight new babies on the way, I gave away four of our societies and the four grown-up zebra chicks from my pair's first clutch to a friend of a friend. They got to all stay together and moved into a new aviary set-up so I know they're in good hands, but I still hate having to give any of them up. They're my birds! They should stay with me forever!

But I only have so much room and fifty birds? Too much. Too much eating, too much bickering, too much cleaning.

Thanks Brian.
If I could slip a few of my babies into an envelope and ship them your way, I would in a heart beat :-).

I wish that I could give them away to friends, acquaintances, relatives etc. It would be so much easier that way. However, most of the people I know, think I'm a bit of a nut case, when it comes to my birds.

"Why can't you just have 1or 2 birds, like other [normal] people have ?"

I wish shipping was easier, then all of you guys, would be getting feathered pressies (presents) for different occasions :-D :-D :-D.

Elana - I just hope that someone doesn't stick them in a teeny tiny cage with only seeds and water.

Well, I know how you think, I agree, I hate a cramped up bird that is meant to flyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
