Re: A Good Bath
lovezebs My Zebras LOVE the bath too, the babies, like to all pile in together... it's awesome, to see them all in this little bath, it's really cute. My only concern (the reason I'm writing on this post AGAIN) is I've had my Gould's for a week now. (9 days today) and they STILL Haven't bathed. I've tried, a few different types like just an open tupperwear at the bottom of the cage, i put a shelf up, and put a bath (again open) on the shelf, in case the bottom of the cage was too low for them. I've also tried ones that sit in the doorway of the cage, and attach to it, and I've tried the covered bath NOT attached, just sitting on the shelf. They have yet to bathe, and I'm starting to worry. Should I spray them down? Any thoughts or sggestions much appreciated, as you know these are my first Gould's and they are VERY different from Zebra's so I want to make sure they are taken care of properly. Thanks!!!

Hi Ellen.
I've heared from other people, that their Gouldians won't bathe. My guys all jump in there like Olympic swimmers, with one exception, Pimier. For some reasn, that boy will not get in the water., don't know why. I have wondered , if that's one of the reasons why he has problems with molting.
As to your guys.... hmmmm. Have you tried putting them close to the Zebras, so they can see how much fun it can be?

Re: A Good Bath
lovezebs They can see the baby zebras from their cage, actually they can see both, but probaby see the the babies the best, as that cage is in front of them. And I have noticed them coming to the front of their cage more checking out what the "loud crazy" neighbors are doing.... so hopefully they will see them bathe, and like you said give a try, I want to put them together, so that they will bathe, and try some of the foods I'm giving them, but I just don't have abig enough cage to house them all together, which really stinks. But a couple different people told me that Gould's take a little longer to settle down into new homes. So hopefully that's it, as the breeder said they did bathe with her. So, now I'm just playing the patience game which is tough for me. As my zebras grew acustome to me and my home VERY quickly. But I'm sure coming from a pet store, and coming from a caring breeder are 2 totally different things!!!lol But thanks for the advice...maybe I can make the zeb's bathing a little more viible to them. Thank you!!
