Rather a difficult breeding season for my gouldians
Hi guys, I'm rather having a difficult breeding season with my gouldians, at first my gouldians were all breeding well untill a disease broke out and claimed many of the chicks lives in the nest. I've lost over 10 chicks in the nest and 5 adults. So I decided to isolated my gouldians all in hospital cages and treating them with treatments. I managed to cure the coccidiosis disease but then 1 month later I discovered they have air sack mites.
Gouldian finches green, yellow, silver and blue backs.
Long tailed grass finches, diamond firetail finches, swee waxbills, corden bleu, star finches and canaries.

Sorry to hear about the bad luck you've had with your Gouldians. Have you managed to get rid of the Air Sack Mites ?
Has there been something different this year, that would lower their immune system? Different weather, different food?

Hi no nothing of the sort, I think its the finches I get I don't usually quarantine my new birds so I think that's why they are sick right now.I am currently treating them with Ivomec and karbadust. I also give vitamins in their drinking water to strengen them up abit

It is so hard to watch our birds struggle through some illness. I am not very good at diagnosis so when one of my birds looks out of sorts, I am worried sick about them. Sending you and your crew some positive vibes and prayers for lots of improvement. Please share your experiences, that is how I learn to care for my loves!
