I have seen a few like that before,Since you have eliminated the possibility of mites and a bacteria infection.I would say she is a high strung bird,As they can lose head feather if they are high strung. It is a genetic defect,And i would not breed with her again if this is the case.As breeding puts her under stress and also carries the bad gene on.

She did begin having feather loss during her breeding, so there could be something to that. I will not breed her anymore and just rest her and hope that helps. I am going to keep her in a cage for a little while to hopefully build her up a little bit. Thanks gomer.

Wow - that's very interesting Gomer. I never knew that but it makes sense since practially everything else have been eleiminated. Will be interesting to know how long until she colours up again. Keep us posted on her progress please, Donna.

I have put her back into the aviary. I treated her again with s76 just as a prevenative. I also gave her some vitamin supplements and she appears to be okay..... Today I was watching her as she was preening and when she lifted her wing up I noticed that it was red looking under it and some feather loss there also. I don't see how it could be mites since she has been treated, but I am concerned for her. I am at a loss for what to do for her.
