My First Home-grown Silver Gouldian
Well my RH PB sfBB x BH WB YB Gouldian pair fledged two little ones and one of them is nearly completely white. So I googled. And apparently it is a Silver. Eeekk! I'm not even sure how they managed to throw a Silver, but I'm thrilled either way.
Combine that with my three adorable Rubino Bourke babies, my two Chestnust-breasted Mannikin chicks, and a handful of Societies and Gouldians and I could just almost forget about how awful everything has been. But that's neither here nor there. I'll try to get some pics of everyone in the next few days to share.

Re: My First Home-grown Silver Gouldian
Very nice! congratulations and best of luck
What's a sfBB?
To get a Pastel Blue ("silver") the chick needs 2 Pastel (yellow) genes and 2 Blue genes. If you have a WB chick and it's male with only 1 Pastel gene and 2 Blue genes then it would be a SF Pastel Blue but appear white because of the WB. To get a WB chick from this pair the PBed bird would have to be split to WB.
