I named them before I found out what sex they were. Butch is butchett, Spike is just a Blond with a bad feather day, and Baldy well what can I say She still looks like she has a bad hair piece.

They are just too cute. I love society finches. I think they are the sweetest of all finches.

LOL....funny!
Your societies are cute....I love the different patterns they have.
I hope to get some societies someday since they seem to be a species everybody here likes. But first I must get a bigger cage.

1 of the first things every day is bath time. my sociaties raise all kinds of cane if I don't give them their bath water first thing in the morning.like others have said they are different some of them take bathes getting as deep in the water as they can and splashing around the others line up around the dish and take showers in the flying water.

Very cute Societies. Did you buy each of them or did you breed some?

I bought those in the pix. But, you might say I raised them as they were juveniles when I got them. They are a trip. I love to watch them play I have some string with beads on it and one of the newest birds (bred and raised here)is trying to get one of the strands. he will take holt and fly off till he hits the end and it jurks him around and he will try to fly backward pulling it. then he will go back to the top of the string bundle and try again. His flying is getting stronger! some times he flys in a cicle pulling on it. All the others just sit and watch the show. I put a mirror in the cageand one of the males started to do his little dance and when he saw the one in the mirror start too he stoped look real close, then started pecking at it. the mirror turned and things were fine. He went back to his song and dance.

I love the story about the little guy flying circles trying to pull on the string, mine seem to love their string/leather strap toys a lot to but are never that persistant with them!
