North TX-ISO owl finches, fire finches, blue male gouldian
I missed the Cleburne, TX bird mart in my area
so I'm not sure what my chances are of finding these, but I'm willing to drive several hours to pick them up. I'm looking for another pair of Owl finches, a pair of fire finches, and a blue back male gouldian. I've added another cage so I've got lots of room now. Thank you so much for your help!

I don't know of any Fire finches for sale in the DFW area, I just bought up the only pair I knew were for sale. As far as Blue-backed Gouldians, if Helen doesn't have any, check with Su Yin (www.happybirdplace.weebly.com).

I've got a pair of Fires but I'm trying to breed them. Maybe Sally and I can race to see who can produce babies for you first... (It'll be her...lol)

I'm very patient! I can wait! I talked with a woman who sold her pair because she said they were so difficult to breed.

My little male was severely plucked before I purchased him and hasn't grown his feathers back in. I'm beginning to wonder if he will. But they've just been moved into a breeding cage (hopefully more escape proof than the one they were in). I've seen people with lots of luck with them on here, but this my first pair. They are pretty but so annoying as they get out every time I got into their old cage...

My owl pair try to escape every time I open the door on their cage too. It's so frustrating! They're so hard to catch when they get out.

I clip a hand towel over cagedoor and slip food and water dishes from the side while the towel helps keep them inside. It helps to talk babytalk and move very slowly

Thanks for the links! I finally found a blue back not too far from where I live, so I'm good for now : ) The birds in the pics are beautiful!
