Hopefully this time they won't toss them, just resist the temptation to check nest again which i'm sure was the reason mine abandoned/tossed earlier clutches.
Mine seem to be settled now, have a clutch of 7 under bengies and 2 clutches of 4+ being parent reared with a 4th possible clutch under another pair.

Re: soon to be )mummy owl finch..
imac, i'd leave them with the parents, so long as the're nest is not disturbed again they should hatch them, only reason i fostered this clutch is because the cock owl mutilated + tossed previous clutch as soon as they hatched, the other 3 pairs are parent rearing fine now.
Once the owls get settled they seem to be very good parents

Can't you candle them and see if they are fertile? The birds may know they're duds, not much you can do about it.

As Debbie said, try to candle them. I'd be curious to see if they were fertile. The female laid very quickly after that first egg tossing. I've had finches lay quickly after some type of mishap like that and the eggs were not fertile. If your birds are young, they may not have figured out the "whole process" and skipped the most important part!

Re: soon to be )mummy owl finch..
Sorry to hear this, are you sure they had abandoned and weren't just out of nest for a few minutes, were eggs cold ?
The bengies need to be already incubating eggs before they will foster, they normaly take about a week to adjust to having a nest box and can then either be allowed to lay their own clutch or a dummy egg can be introduced each day until they start sitting (normaly after 4th or 5th egg), only then can the fostered eggs be switched into nest. The're can also be issues with bengies being reluctant to feed owl chicks due to the amount of fuzzy down when they hatch, my pair that have fostered the 2 clutches allowed 2 out of 4 chicks in first clutch to starve before deciding to feed remaining 2 chicks, in current clutch the same pair of bengies hatched all 7 owl eggs and now have 7 chicks only a few days away from fledging.
Are you colony breeding them with more than 1 pr in aviary ? if so have you noticed them interfering with each others nests ? Is there an equal cock/hen ratio with a few of extra nests to number of pairs ?
I'm breeding them 1pr per cage but mainly because as yet i don't have avairies, i believe they do breed successfully in colonies but as with any colony setup sometimes an individual birds personality can be troublesome/very dominant and interfere with other pairs attempts to breed
