I purchased a pair of yellow back gouldians (unrelated), a canary hen and two button quail hens. It's so fun to get new birds!!!

Congrats, beautiful! Love the blue breast on you male. Always so exciting getting new birds particularly when what your looking for is hard to find.

They are beautiful Jen! Very happy for you. Hope you get tons of babies. He mentioned if the YB has a white band on his leg - then that YB came from a clutch that had 3 silver. So, I bought one with a white band and paired it with by BB.

Yes I have a male Timbrado canary I named "Patch". He is yellow with one patch of brownish feathers on his neck. The breeder I got him from had the parents for me to see. Patch had a solid white parent. (can't remember if it was mom or dad) but it was beautiful! I didn't have any luck breeding Patch before, but I wanted to give him another try so I got this hen for him. She has white on her along with a mix of colors, so I'm hoping for some pretty babies one day!!! I'll try to get a better photo of her and post. Patch is finishing his molt right now and hasn't shown any interest in her. (I need a name for "her") !!!

If you look at the female gould you can see she is a lot paler in color. I think she has the silver in her genes if I remember what the breeder said. I actually like the colorful goulds better and was not really looking for a silver, but she was so pretty I couldn't pass her up. Her feathers have a beautiful sheen to them! His birds were so healthy you could see it in their feathers!
