Happy New Year James and everyone!

I just got back from Walmart (exciting way to spend the first day of the year, eh?), where I bought some Timothy hay meant for rabbits. Sprinkled it around on the bottom of my birdcage and the whole place smells so nice! :D Thought Dick & Jane would be down on the bottom rooting through it, but they've shown no interest. Oh well, I like it.

Hope everyone is enjoying this first day of 2009.

I LOVE Wal-Mart. Went there myself today..... they get a great portion of my money.

We had a great New Year's Day around here..... ate collards from our garden and black-eyed peas. What is that suppose to mean? Lots of money next year? Yeah!!!!

Wow - strange to hear of other cities where stores were open today. Nothing was open in our city. :(

Yes L, I googled to see if Home Depot was open, too, and found that it was closed all across Canada, except in Alberta & BC! Yeah!!!
We folks out west are spoiled I guess.

Ruth, it is probably more a "soutern thing". They look like large green leaves. Yum! They are a vegetable and an aquired taste. My grandson will not touch them. He think he is eating leaves.

Happy New Year to everyone! All the relatives are leaving later today. It has been a wonderful holiday but I am also looking forward to quieter times!

Happy New Year To The Forum Members.

Visiting here with other Finch lovers is one of the reasons my New Year will be even better. I have learned so much here and received so much support.

Hugs to all! :D

Donna - my reptilian animals LOVE their collards, and yeah I think it might be a souther thing :). I didnt think to try them with the birds, I'll have to give them a chunk of leaf and see how they feel about it next time. I am so happy to have zeb's and socities that actually try stuff. My RCCB also seem SUPER excited about new foods, as long as they can't see me watching them :) I too love walmart and spend a great deal of money there as compared to other stores, they almost always have everything I need, and home depot is the second most paid company by me

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

You should try the collarrd...... yum....

I never went to home depot until I married. Nothing like a man dragging you down there twice a week.
