A Very Bad Haircut. . .

Post by lovezebs » Sun Jul 26, 2015 8:24 pm

Look at this poor little fella.

I only noticed his extremely bad haircut today.
He's one of this year's kids, and looks like someone has decided that he would look good in that rather modern plucked look.

I pulled him out of the Zebra/Society flight, and took a good look at his poor wee head. Sure enough, someone (and I don't know who the culprit is) has done quite a job on him.

For now, I've transfered him to another flight, and Luciano (who is molting), is keeping an eye on him. Let's hope the feathers will grow back in short order, and he'll be able to go home soon.

Ohhh the poor baby
That's good news though, that he's away from the plucker and has your TLC and big "brother" Luciano to watch over him :D

Oh, someone really did a number on him! Good thing you got him out of harm's way.

Sally & Leo519

Last I checked, he's making himself at home. He was singing up a storm, then I watched him stuffing his face in the veggie tray :-). I think he'll be alright.

Aww that's a good sign!
Glad to hear he's showing signs of being happy and content :D
Sounds like he just needs time to grow his "hair" back

Smurf

Yes Padraic..... my nutty PF is in the very same Zebra flight....... but he wouldn't, would he? I must clarify here, that the plucked one is a boy, could my irascible PF, be the plucky? I just assumed that it was one of my Zebbies, getting too enthused about preening.

Now I'll have to keep an even closer watch on my little imp of PF. Hopefully it wasn't him, or he'll have to move into solitary.

debbie276 & Leo519

Thanks ladies.

I'm sure he'll grow his hair back in no time, now that he's away from the culprit (whomever that might be  ).

I always get concerned, when plucking starts on such a level as to leave large bald spots of this magnitude. It's a bad bad habit, and very difficult to break (especially when I don't know who the 'plucky' happens to be (although our friend Padraic just put a thought in my mind here).

Colt

No idea, Colt.
My little fella, is still recuperating in a different flight. He's busy eating and singing (well, meeping and beeping anyway). We are still waiting for his 'hair' to grow back.

In the Zebra flight, I don't see any other 'baldies' so far, so that's good news.

Well then, perhaps it is not an overly amorous Red-faced Parrot Finch then.

I guess we'll never know, unless we see he/she actually doing it to some one else.

Good news is, our little fella is starting to show some new growth on his bald spot :-).

P.S. My amorous PF, continues in his pursuit of my Zebra girl occasionally. It is quite funny to watch. Do any of you remember the cartoon with Pepe la Pue, the skunk, chasing the girl cat???? Well, it's not far off :-)

I think things are starting to grow in on our little boy. What do you think? Will he be able to show his face in public again soon?
