Remodeled the double flight cage

Post by Colt » Sun Aug 30, 2015 6:34 pm

Re-decorated my six foot double flight cage yesterday. I like how it's laid out much better now. It now holds all Australian species (except the female Amethyst Starling) including: a pair of Chestnut-breasted Mannikins, a pair of Star Finches (RF Normal male x RF Isabelle hen), pair of Owl Finches, pair of Gouldians (BH PB sfYB/BB x a silver hen), a pair of Normal Blue Diamond Doves, pair of Bourke Parakeets (Rosey/Ino x Rubino), and an elderly trio of Shaft-tails (Albino and Fawn) who are all hens.

It's full but looks great, and I'm hoping the birds get a good rest in and build up some muscle before going to nest. My clutches tend to be best in the big flights. Now if I could just find another double for the waxbills...

I love it. It looks wonderful Colt.

I noticed, that you didn't mention any Zebras in there, hm????

Good luck with the breeding.

Sheather - yes hopefully with cooler weather and eggfood I'll get the birds breeding again. Right now no one is doing much of anything but eating...lol

@Lucille and Babs - Thank you ladies! I'm really enjoying the new look.

@lovezebs - Actually I only have one pair now. I almost put them into the flight. They are English and getting a little chubby, but they are actually sitting on eggs. Only birds in the whole bird room. So I left them be. ;) They are so well behaved I don't think it would be a problem. And I don't think they would be able to hybridize with the Owls because of the vast size difference.

Colt

Your cage looks fantastic! I need to add greenery to my two, but I'm not sure where to start. Maybe you can come decorate for me
