What species of canary is this

Hallo everybody,

I am new to this forum and that's for a reason; I have never owned a canary but two weeks ago I found one in my garden. Luckily I was able to capture it and he/she is now sitting warm and cozy in my living room.
The question I have is what kind of canary of this? I cannot find any information or so on it so is it maybe a "regular" canary with a specific colour pattern or is he/she something else.

I have attached some pictures so you know what my little fellow looks like.

I don't know a thing about canaries, but we do have members who have experience with them and hopefully they can help ID your bird for you. Kudos to you for taking in this little guy/girl, domesticated birds often don't live long in the wild.

Although not an expert on Canary mutations, I do share my home with a nice Canary family, among other birds.

I found this on some website and thought it looked like your little bird. Check out Island Canary photos, top picture.

First of all , you will need a good finch mix, with added Canary seed. Fresh water, a cuttle bone, a little container with luke warm water to offer a little bath, and some bird grit.

Canaries also love fresh greens, like chopped romaine, spinach, kale, red swiss chard and many others..Many enjoy a bit of apple as well.

If your new Canary is a boy, he should offer you a song once he feels comfortably settled in his new home. Male Canaries will sing , females have a pleasant little chirp, but usually do not have much of a song (although they make sweet companion birds).

Most Canaries love to swing, so a size appropriate birdie swing will be appreciated and enjoyed. They also tend to enjoy looking in a mirror and admiring their good looks .

Looks like he's a bronze, although he may have just been colorfed. As for his type, that will remain a mystery because there's no way to find out for certain unless told from the breeder.
