New Baby!!!!
My pair of YB Goulds had four eggs but only hatched one...their first clutch. They were great parents and were so attentive to their one and only hatchling. They are just getting the hang of things but doing great. I haven't named him/her yet. The breeder where I purchased his parents said their are silvers in his genetics. He/she is very light in color.

I will try to post photos as he/she grows. There were four eggs in the beginning but only one hatched. (this was their first clutch) I'm a little concerned because he fledged about a week ago, but has been a weak flyer. I put him back into the nest at night at the beginning of the week and mom and dad were going in and feeding him. Today, I've observed "Rain" in different areas of the aviary and either mom or dad have been close by and still feeding. I'll continue to post photos of his/her development. Have my fingers crossed for him to continue to grow and improve. His parents "Sun" and "Moon" have been PERFECT parents and have probably been the most attentive parent birds I've had.

I just love that baby, and what a sweet name.
One baby is fine, as long as parents are feeding, and as you said, they are being wonderful parents, so that's what counts.
Just goes to show, that Gouldians make outstanding parents given half a chance.
Good luck, and waiting for more pictures of this little darling.

Re: New Baby!!!!
Only way to get a Pastel Blue ("silver") from that pair is if both parents are split to Blue and the chick got a Blue gene from each. I think I do see a bit of yellow on the body but will be interesting to see how it molts out.
Beautiful family, congratulations and best of luck

Thanks for the info Debbie. The parents are split to blue. The breeder did tell me that. I actually like the "colorful" Goulds over the Silvers, but if you are going to have rainbow, you need all the colors right? "Rain" does show some yellow on his back, but he is very pale right now. My RH pairs and OH pairs have had babies but the one pair of BH have not been as lucky. I have my fingers crossed for more BH's!!! Go figures...
