Our three male budgies, Sam (green, 5 months), Sydney (blue, 5 years), and Arthur (pied, age unknown), and their cockatiel flockmate, Freddy (4.5 months).
Originally Sam was our only tame parakeet, since he was socialized since birth and raised with me, but his influence has rubbed off on the other two and everyone is quite friendly nowadays.

I love it ! Look at them all, and how tame they've become. I remember (quite a while ago) when you said, they wanted nothing to do with you because they had each other. This is wonderful. Have you spent a lot of time with them?
Love the pictures.

lovezebs Well, since I downsized the hobby and went from 8 parakeets to three, things became a lot more manageable and open to training (no more huge wild flock mentality!). With one of those three being our very special Sam - who hatched with me and was socialized from infancy and was tame from the start - and with him being the definite dominant personality of the group, it was only a matter of time before the other two gave in to his influence. We're not totally there yet with Sydney and Arthur, but we're getting close. Arthur mostly still just wants me for the food, but Sam loves playing with people and Sydney is starting to become curious about me even when I have nothing to offer, landing on my arm or my shoulder while I'm sitting in the room, so I think with just a bit more time, they will all be as sweet as Sam is.

That's really great.
I wish I had the space to let Freeby and Opie (budgies) come out and fly. I know Freebie, would come around fairly quickly, but Opie.... he's older and skittish.

They're so cute!!! I couldn't bother to tame my tow male budgies that mych, but they are OK next to me and sut on my hand fine and take food... But then i didn't have much time so we stayed at that.... And I'm fine with it they are very happy and relaxed and do their own thing..
But yours are definitely very cute!
