They're all very cute! I like your white crested society...I have one at home that has one red eye. She was plucked by her previous cage mates because she was all white, so none of her feathers are growing back in those spots, but she's a wonderful surrogate parent.

I was at the pet store last night..she/he was being picked on along with the little zeb..I thought about it all night and then went and got them this morning..I know that just gives the pet store more room to add more birds but they needed me(or I needed them  ) and they're so cute :D

My dad and I went to have a look at a few finches yesterday... OMG... The guy had an aviary setup to die for. It took up about an 1/8th oh his yard on about 1/4 acre.

And the best part... he has painted firetails that we can get for $50/pair. And he has a red zeb's and we're going to grab a pair of those as well... and he has a spare DBF female which we are also going to grab.

It looks like we're going to have to make a new aviary and split the flock ;)

Sounds like my favorite kind of trip :-D. There's nothing like bird shopping trips, lol. Most women go for shoes and clothes shopping :-) not me.

It was great... and the guy has king quail... I think that you lot in the states call them button quail... one of the clutches was only a couple of days old... so there were these super tiny chicks running around.

Dad and I didnt want to leave to come home to my sisters birthday party.

You both are making me so jealous. NO ONE around here has birds to go look at except for the Pet stores. And you can no longer sell animals on craigs list, so I couldn't find anyone on there either.

Kelly I would love to see a photo of your aviary or cage and how it is decorated. I need ideas.

Here is mine. I put one Fake plant in I got from Hobby Lobby. Notice no birds on perches, because they are sleeping in the feed dishes. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

I would ask the pet store where they got their birds from. And unless they are really crappy about things like that, they should tell you about a supplier.
