FINALLY good news!!!
Apparently my 3 surviving birds the 2 hens and Blue have decided to get along and be friends. They go from cage to cage. Blue has stopped for now with harassing Nellie. Nellie and Sadie seem to be bonded little sister girls and sleep in the nest together or next to each other. Blue still has his mirror fixations but is calmer when it is in the cage and he is less territorial if it is there. That is just weird. BUT they are all getting along. They are spending more time as a threesome of their own accord. Nellie is more playful and not so fearful. Everyone is eating, drinking and playing. There has not been another catastrophe and I am still trying to introduce egg food. Mostly it gets tossed out but they are getting more interested in the dried egg shells, especially Nellie. Maybe her breeder fed her food. Both the new hens are really bashful of me but I keep talking to them and move slowly. They will come around. I really miss Spreckles. I think that bird could talk like a parrot. It used to sound like he said things... I know they aren't supposed to be able to talk but it wasn't me! He could whistle and do quite a lot of interesting vocalizations. I think his breeder must have put a lot of time into his/her birds.

I'm so happy they all seem to be okay. It's wonderful how much joy you are taking from your little birds. They're wonderful creatures to be sure. Keep smiling my dear . . we've all had things happen that we grieve over and beat ourselves up about - but we learn and keep moving forward. It sure sounds like the three birds are bonding together well. So sorry again for your loss and I hope that one day you find another little bird in your life that captures your heart in the special way Spreckles did.

In every saddness with our birds, the next day the remaining birds always do something to spark us right up and make us smile again. I would love to see a picture of blue hanging out with his "best friend in the mirror". You should name the mirror. **giggle*

I need to figure out the picture thing. I took a good one of him and cropped it into a close up and this site said it exceeded the size. I'll take some more. He is a cutie pie. Really can't tell the difference between him and the little hen

open the picture into microsoft office picture manager. It has a "resize" option. Resize it to about the auto 640X480 pixels option in the drop downbox.
Thats the largest file size this site will take I believe.

Glad that they are all beginning to get along together Karen.
It just takes time and patience. If you spend a lot of time in the room with them, they will eventually become more calm around you. They will probably not be tame, but more comfortable .
