Around mid day today, I noticed only one baby Owl in the Star nest.
Looking around the flight floor, I couldn't spot the little fella anywhere.
My eyes scanned all the perches, plants, other nests, nooks and crannies.
Nothing.
At this point, I was starting to get a little worried, wondering if he could have possibly squeezed out between the bars and dropped to the floor.
Opening the bottom flight door, I slowly started moving some containers around, and there he was, sheltering under the lip of a a plate holding wild grass seeds.
Sigh of relief ~~~

He came waddling out, stretching his tiny wings out, looking around curiously, his tiny face a question mark.
I decided to settle myself down into a chair and watch for a while.
Parents Sunny and Sam, appeared to be busy flitting about, apparently not too concerned about their little foster child being out and about in the big world, all alone and looking for trouble.
Everyone else however came over to check him out, and the Owl pair appeared to be absolutely fascinated with their first born child (whom they abandoned still in the egg). Both left their Easter basket nest to come look at him again and again. It was almost as if something in them recognized him as the same species (if not their progeny).
Finally little tater tot decided to take an upward leap, landing right in the bath

He landed on a spray of millet and did a little 'lumberjack on a log in the water' dance, before landing on his fuzzy wet butt on the newspaper looking somewhat disgruntled.
He stayed like that for a while, until I finally picked him up and returned him to the nest and his sibling.
Shortly thereafter parents offered a snack, and kids settled in for a nap.
Last I checked both babes are snuggled together in the nest
