Anyone have experience with these?
Would they be ok in a mixed aviary?
Know of any breeders/suppliers in the northeastern USA(Pennsylvania)?
Know an approximate price for them in the US?
I've been looking at pics and reading the limited info I can find on them...
They're great looking finches, but I don't see them around here at all.
Any info on keeping/purchasing a pair (or 2) would be appreciated!!
Thanks!
Tim

I did a quick search for the Sydney waxbill, as I remember reading that it is the only waxbill found in the wild outside of Africa. What I'm finding is that the Redbrowed finch is also known as the Sydney waxbill and the Redbrowed Firetail, so they are one and the same. Don't know if anyone in the US has them, but I did find a place in Toronto that is an importer that lists them on their website. Fees to export to the US are quite high, they bring them in thru Buffalo, NY. Their website is www.ccpetshop.com/.

Sally,
I've found that limited info on the web,too...
I also found a few other Canadian importers(who get Syndey waxbills) that will ship to the US, but the fees are hundreds of dollars to do so, so that's WAY out of my budget...lol
I'm also trying to find Pictorella finches(mannikins) and Yellow Stars If anyone can help me out with them????
Anyone have info about keeping red-brows or pictorellas??
Tim
