Finally got a picture of the 2 of the 3 babies (Sorry it took so long). The Green/Blue is on the bottom and what I believe is a blue is on the top. Legs are paler and no green feathers at all on the back.
Does the one on the top look like a blue to you Debbie? The 3rd baby not in the picture has the same grayish feathers as well.

I would have never guessed that mean little Brat with her yellow beak would have blue babies. Bill wants a BH BB with a WB, but I dont know if thats possible with Ricco being RH PB, and Brat having the YH gene.
I am listening to her in the next room giving Ricco his nightly verbal smack down. "EH EH EH, Make my new nest somewhere you dope ..ANYWHERE! Just DO IT!" **giggle**
I can hear him beeping back like "someone help me this chick is crazy". He's probably doing his pacing back and forth and head nodding "yes dear....um yes dear", or hiding in the foliage again.
I really hope he can "grow a pair" and tame that shrew next year so I can keep them together and breed them next season.

How can you tell what color the babies will be? Do you look at their nodes?

On the young uncolored chick's the Green body will have a green tint and Blue body will have grey feathers. Pastel will have very light colored feathers with a hint of yellow.
You can also predict the colors of your chick's by the parents genetics.
Going by the nodules is not all that accurate. Green and Pastel chick's have yellow center nodules and Blue and Pastel Blue will have white.
