Female pair laying eggs

Hello,
I have a pair of female zebra finches (no males at all) and they have laid eggs and are pretending to incubate them. I have slowed them to sit on them for just over two weeks. They are in a covered nest that I plan to remove once I remove the eggs, but I'm wondering about what the best way to remove them is?? Do I just remove them cold turkey? I've heard replacing eggs with plastic eggs is a good idea, if so, how long do I leave the fake replacements in the cage? Thanks in advance for the advice.

Personally, I would go cold turkey and remove the nest. You probably will still find eggs laid around the cage, on the floor or in seed cups, and just toss those as well. Eventually, they will stop, though you still may see an occasional egg.

I also would take out nest and eggs cold turkey. Toss any eggs they may lay and reduce the protein in their diet. If you give hard boiled eggs reduce giving it to them to 2 or 3 times a week.
