So excited (Green Backed twinspot)
Super excited about my purchase of these cute birds today. I splurged a little in order to get them. Cannot wait to raise some babies! I hear they can be a hassle to breed, but i am ready for the task.

Re: So excited (Green Backed twinspot)
Congrats, they look great! I too recently got a pair of these. I have since learned that they are not easy to breed because in the wild they breed in acacia trees about 17 feet off the ground. So much for me doing research before buying!
I got mine from Bird Product, and David said he has had success with them by placing nests in the aviary about 9 feet off the ground. I don't have an aviary right now, so that is out, but I am planning to put them in a double flight cage which will be stacked on top of another double flight cage, putting them near the 8' ceiling in my living room. We'll see if this fools them at all!

Re: So excited (Green Backed twinspot)
Thanks guys!!! I am very excited to breed them! sally I have been chatting with a guy. He has success breeding them in a breeding cage. He said to add plenty of foilage (fake grasses etc) make sure the entrance of the nest is well hidden and he said thats the trick. They live in secondary forest and like coverage. I hope I have success with them! Every since I added coverage, they have been really active and even eating while im in from of the cage. They seem a bit more at ease with me walking around them as if i were bot even there. Keep us all posted on your success as well please. I did not research on these before purchase either. I just could not pass them up when i saw them:)

Very nice, huge congrats!
I absolutely love these birds but as mentioned, they can be a challenge to breed.
Good luck with your pair and keep us updated!
