Poop on the floor

Post by Spreckles » Fri Feb 12, 2016 12:33 pm

Ok here it is. Bird poop on the floor for those who are considering free flight and a Bird room. Remember I have NINE birds not 59. This is 2 days. I clean my ceiling fan when I feel like it the blades are always covered with it. But just think how dirty the cages would be. A little sweeping & mopping isn't bad.

@Elana Babs what do you think?

It doesn't look like much because it's not.

Oh thats not bad at all for two days. Just a 5 minute sweep and mop a day and there would be virtually nothing to see. Wow looks like a WHOLE lot less work than my 3 hours of cage cleaning and puppy pad replacing every Sunday.

Actually that's true. I don't have to clean cages very much. Just a bit of wiping and the daily cleaning of dishes perches etc. I think it's easy. They do hit the walls too!

You could do that. I just mop. I have a super easy mop so it's no trouble I clean it up every other day.

Tell folks that it's 'bird art' and put frames around it, lol.

Now it's your turn to make me wet my pants! Bird art! Snort.
I have been sitting in here trying to catch these 2 hooligans & I learned something. When they take a bath they really spray a lot of water around. I have been wondering where the water marks on the walls were coming from. They need a tiled shower! More artwork right?
So funny

Oh yes, the water spraying.
You almost need to create a tub area, with a little shower curtain around it, lol.

I heard somewhere that because of their fast metabolism, small birds can poop between 40 and 50 times a day. Can anyone confirm that? It only becomes important when you're thinking about how often to clean things up.
Favorite hobby is continuing to improve on a landscaped, weather protected, 500 sq ft mixed aviary with 23 fascinating species. 30 years in the making; currently have
19 different Finch species, 2 types of Doves, plus 23 Button Quail and 30 pair of clear Red Factor Canaries.
