Clown Nest

Post by FLDoc » Wed Feb 03, 2016 12:39 am

My Societies are in a flight with the Zebras. No matter how many nests are available, there always seems to be one or two 'clown' nests of Societies. It's amazing how many leave the nest. Reminds me of a circus clown car. These are the nests that get replaced the most often. Pardon the poop.

Socies are so endearing. At my height I had 24 of them at once, after a very productive breeding season.... suffice to say I ended up giving them a large easter basket and every one of those 24 society finches went down in it and sat. It was just a mass of little beaks and eyes sticking out!

Absolutely love that picture !

It always makes me wonder how on earth they can breathe, when they all pile in like that, but they seem to manage just fine, lol.

My societies don't have a nest, yet they still pile on top of one another every night.
