Goodbye Little Kids

Post by Dramoth » Fri Feb 26, 2016 8:45 pm

Well... the day I have not been looking forward to has arrived. A buyer appeared for all our little kids earlier this week and today he showed up to collect them. It took a little while to catch them and put them into the big boxes we setup to transport them... but it happened and they are now gone.

Hopefully dad is going to get well enough to make the trip to Victoria in a couple of months. We were going to drive cross country, but it started looking like he wouldn't be able to do that, so we started making plans to fly him over.

And once we get to Melbourne, the hunt is going to be on to build new aviaries and get in new finches.

Oh Mark....

I know it had to come, but I'm sad for you. I hope this chap will give them all a good home....

Hopefully the trip to Melbourne will go smoothly for your family, and that things will work out alright.

Please keep us all updated.

I will do Elana... it's a little sad really, but I do know that we couldn't keep them. And the guy who got them seemed like a really nice guy and has 7 nieces and does all sorts of things for them. He basically brought 35 birds to entertain his nieces :)

He was telling me that his next project once he gets the Zebs settled in is to setup a chicken coop and get one of those automated incubators to hatch out a bunch of eggs for his nieces :)

Glad you found a home and the plans are moving forward. Hope all goes well getting settled again in Melbourne. We are moving too and it's no picnic. Please do check in and let your parents know we are thinking of all of you and the poodle.

I agree, a sad day, but one that had to come. Once you get settled in Melbourne, you can get some finches again to help you and your family cope. Please keep us posted.
