Owls or Cordon- Bleu?
Hello everybody. I been looking at my flight cage and it isn't as busy as it used to be. I have space for something new and I'm torn between Cordon Bleu and owl finches. What's your preference?

I like Cordon Bleus because they have a pretty song, and both sexes sing. I like Owls because they have such cute personalities. I'm no help either!

Do you have Gouldians or Societies in that cage now? Or both? Or something else? LOL!
How big is the cage and how many are in it ATM?

Turn towards home, and go there. Many overs, over woods and fields, streams and hills, many overs. Just turn towards home. How else would one go there? Perhaps it was a dream, and you have awakened from it. May the earth rise up beneath you, with home in your heart, and your person waiting.

You make a strong case for both.
@Sojourner
Nice looking birds! I have 3 pairs of Gouldians each pair in their own 30 X 18 cage. In the 37×27 flight I have 3 societies. I have other 30×18 that I can move my societies into if its an issue with the new finches. Since you have both do you have a preference for one over the other?

I only have societies, and only 2 of them at that, LOL!
I have to admit I much prefer the Owls. For some odd reason, all my favorite finches seem to be non-dimorphic - eg there is no way to tell the boys from the girls. You have to put 'em in the cage together and hope for the best, LOL!
Maybe less so, if the breeder has sexed them - I never seem to see anything but the Zebras and Societies in the pet stores, just about anything else you have to get directly from a breeder. Which I am all for!
If you're only getting one pair, I'd put them in the spare 30x18 and leave the societies where they are. Its too likely that one of the societies will end up being odd man out - if that triad is already balanced and getting along I wouldn't disturb it.
