Main purpose of double screen as shown in the attached pictures for outdoor aviary and cages is to give space between your birds and highly skilled predators like rats and cats in our country . Its a long time experience for me waking up in the morning seeing my birds when using single screen cages specially the bottom part of the cage, loosing a limb, a wing , a leg ,belly and most of the time the head . since using a double screen cage I never lose a bird form such attacks.
