3 Lady Gouldian boys ... and 1 Girl

Post by lnlovesorange » Wed Mar 16, 2016 4:06 pm

Hello all, any thoughts on 3 gouldain boys (i already have) and 1 girl? I have an entire bird room (no nests for them) do you think there would be squabbling over the one hen? So In other words should I wait until I can get more than one hen? Thanks for the input!

Cuz I'm not getting my "Silver" can't really blame the breeder, she's got some good genetics in that bird, until she gets some babes out of him, I wouldn't get rid of him either!!!

With Gouldians, I have found, that you don't really get too much 'squabbling' as such. They are a peaceful lot as a rule.

With three males and one female, you would probably see your girl develope a preference for one of your boys, and they will start hanging out together, and spending time in each other's company.

lovezebs Thanks Elana... I figured she would pick one... but wasn't sure if that would cause the other ones to fight or what not. Once she does, I'll put them in a cage to breed (30X1818 ok) or should I use the bigger cage i have... Don't want to leave them with just a box in the bird room, as I think the Zebs (and soon societies) might bother them... again this is probably a ways away, as 2 of my boys are currently moulting... so just preparing ... Thank you!!

That is a fine size for breeding Gouldian pairs.
