So now you know that he can get into the nest if he wants to (which is good ).
Regarding the egg food, I would suggest egg every day. They may not need a 'whole' egg every day, but enough so that there is a little left over (that way, you know that it's enough ).
Like Sally mentioned, try mashing the egg, so that they eat both the white and the yellow.

Re: Yes eggs!
lovezebs Oh I didn't mean a whole egg , I meant 1/4 of an egg I just didn't say 1/4 , I use the whole egg and slice it in 4 slices , give each slice to one cage , silly me xD.
Yes I know he can get up in the nest , what worries me is that they got in the nest after first egg was laid , I thought that they start laying after 3rd egg or 4th , is this going to be troublesome in the future?

That's hard to say, depending on the size of clutch your girl decides to lay.
If it's a small clutch, then once they begin hatching, there shouldn't be a huge difference in size between the babies. Zebras, are usually good at feeding the littlest babies along with the bigger ones.
Are they, or at least one of them, sitting in the nest both day and night? That's when you know that they mean business (sitting tight).
I'm really keeping my fingers crossed for you here, that your boy managed to fertilize those eggs, and that you get babies from him.

Re: Yes eggs!
lovezebs Thanks for your support
They haven't sat on eggs at all during the day , she started sitting in the nest box a day before she laid an egg , but after she laid an egg she stopped being in the nest during the day , this is the first time the male got in the nest to sleep , maybe they only want 1 chick ? xD
Female sleeps every night in the nest though , this is nothing uncommon for her , I am just worried for the egg , I don't know if they are doing it right , because they will hatch at different times I think .
I don't know if that is a bad thing , but ahh I just dont even know what to write

One thing about breeding finches, most of it is up to the birds, out of our control. You can only do so much to try to get them to lay/incubate/feed. This is when they will try your patience!

Don't get so frustrated
lol.
If the eggs are fertile, and if all goes well, you will have babies. It's as simple as that. Time will tell, and again, it's all about patience
All you can do is wait, and allow your birds to do what comes naturally. Most birds follow their instincts, and know what to do instinctively.
When your girl starts to sit day and night, you start counting your days, and mark your calendar.

Well congratulations, on number two egg.
Your poor girl, where was your boy in all this? Should have been there, to hold her hand or something.....

Re: Yes eggs!
Egg number 3 was a bit late , I don't know if it is something bad , or something to worry about , the first two eggs she laid in the morning in around 7:30 , the 3rd egg she laid was at around 12:00, any reasons or it just took her that long to form a proper egg to lay?

Re: Yes eggs!
Now it seems she has burried the eggs under the nesting material , is this some kind of stage?
I am sure she did not toss the eggs out , I have seen a little bit of an egg through the nesting material and no eggs on the ground , I am not sure if she laid fourth egg , but she is still not sitting in the nest , maybe she will start sitting in the nest after she laid her fourth egg?

Congratulations! If I'm correct, I think incubation starts once the hen has laid her last egg. It's good that they're sitting together...sounds like he's figuring out what he needs to do
