Last week, a neighbor posted in our neighborhood website that her society finch was lonely and she wanted a good home for her. We went to see her. She was adorable, and it turned out she'd been alone for three months. Three months! We brought her home.
The next day, we brought home a zebra finch to be her friend, and the day after that, bought another zebra finch I'd had my eye on in the shop, because we thought the zebra needed someone who spoke her language.
Now, all three finches seem super happy - our society finch is delighted to have friends and the zebras are two peas in a pod.
One zebra finch makes a funny sound that is a bit like a scratchy teeny turkey, and she wiggles her whole body. The other zebra doesn't make this noise - ONLY this one.
Also, her coloring is a bit different from the other, so I wondered if she is actually a he. They're quite young, and the woman at the shop (specifically a bird shop) said it was a bit hard to tell.
I'm sorry these images are all sideways. Oops.
Any thoughts?

I forgot to mention that the link in my post is to a video of the zebra finch making the sound. She usually stands up and wiggles a bit - it's a very indignant move.

Hello, and welcome to the Forum.
Your Zebras, appear to be very young from what I can see (tips of their beaks, are still dark).
Male Zebras will sing, so it is possible that your girl is a boy. I can't really hear your video all that well, as all my crew here are in full singing mode.
Listen to this video, and compare......

Enjoy your new babies, and keep us updated to how they're coming along.

HA HA, I played it and MY crew started chirping away. That's exactly the sound our Penelope is making.
So...I guess maybe Penelope is...PeneloHE? Interesting.

Your zebras are quite young, and in your video it does sound like a male learning to sing
I have 2 pied zebras as well, and they can be hard to sex until mature. The male will have a bight red beak, and the female will have a deep orange one.

If you end up with a pair of zebras, watch carefully as they may get agressive with your society finch when they mature. I would personallyl not keep Zebbies and societies together.
