And here are the new ones finishing up quarantine. The male had a hole at the corner of his beak but it's now gone, I don't know if it was an injury of some sort.

This is also a link to a video of all 4 of my birds, if anyone would care to see what they look like in action. It's long, about 6 minutes. You have to fast forward to about halfway through to see the 3 in the large cage, I was originally trying to catch my hen playing with her bell so I was a bit fixated on her for a while :)

The 3rd set of pictures, last picture, your RH male on the left is a SF Pastel (Single Factor Pastel). Because he is PB (Purple Breast) all black areas are grey and his body color is a lighter green then a Green.

Not sure how much your aware of gouldian genetics but thought you'd be interested:
The last set of pictures, the male is also a SF Pastel but because he is WB (White Breast) all black areas are grey and the body color is yellow.
Your hen looks to be a BH YTB (Black Head Yellow Tipped Beak) which means she is genetically a YH (Yellow Head) but can't express it because there is no red gene.
Black and Red Heads have red tipped beaks and all Yellow Heads have yellow tipped beaks.

You have a very nice variety of birds, good luck with them all. :)

debbie276, Sally:

Laraine was able to help me out with a diagnosis: scaly mites! She said they've probably existed since I've purchased the bird, but they are only becoming problematic enough to show now. And the foot looked mite-free. So I'll be starting an S76 application treatment course directly to the beak, which will go on for the next several weeks. As far as the baldish spot, tough to tell, but she OK'd me adding some molt supplement I have to my eggfood as a boost and said to see how it turns out once the molt is complete.

So happy she was able to take the time and help me out! :D :D :D

Debbie: i AM trying to learn gouldian genetics, so yup, appreciate the info! I knew the one dilute was a SF male, but I thought the new one was genetically a YB bird. Didn't consider the WB. And I had not considered the YTB factor when I bought the new female, I thought she was a BH and had a LB because it looked so light compared to the other hens in the cage. I'm learning, I'm learning! 8)

I feel so settled! I'm looking forward to getting this med routine underway and prepping for the final union of all 6. I'll post some updates/images down the road. Thanks again!
