Really,
I will be glad in 2 weeks when the chicks are scheduled to be weaned.

Then bird moving and planning to mate a pair of the societies.
And I hope the next generation of societies won't be so picky with the food and feeding.

All my gouldian babies being fed by societies beg very loudly, we can hear them in the next room. For future reference... If unsure you can use Ronex 12% with ACV in the water... ACV is 1 1/2 to 2 tablespoons to a gallon of water (mine accepted it at 1 1/2) then add the proper amount of ronex to it.

If the babies have some sort of infection that is slowing them you can also safely add Trisulfa to ronex 12% and ACV, if not comfortable adding ACV you can beak dose the babies with a drop of medistatin solution 2 times a day, that will cover yeast also.

If unsure your societies are disease free run a course of ronex 12% from the time of hatch until weaning/removing the young from the fosters' cage.

Oh my gosh, taking care of babies is so much work! Good luck with your little ones. You're so nice to accommodate their menu preferences. When the babies all scream together, they are so loud!

Any time I would walk into the room and my runt would see me, she would start crying for food. I'd be frantically mixing the baby food and trying to fill the syringe while she'd be incessantly crying at me. It would sound like, 'pi-ta ta ta ta!' When I finally decided to wean her, she was screaming at me every hour.

Well it was feeding them often, or they would stop feeding the chicks, so I really did not have any choice. Good thing I'm retired and at home to feed them.

he he. I've seen weaned chicks freeloading on their foster, by keep begging to be fed. I had to force wean them by separating them from their fosters. But you have to be CERTAIN that they are weaned before doing the forced weaning by separation.
