Fighting

Post by Akoch95 » Fri Jun 17, 2016 12:47 pm

I bought my first two Goulding finches three days ago but soon after getting them home they started to get into squabbles so I got them a much bigger cage hoping that would resolve the problem. The squabbles have turned into fights that have been getting worse and worse. So a few hours ago I separated them into difrent cages. For the most part I see the male chasing and attacking the female but have seen her go at him a few times. Should I try reintroduced get them in a few days or is it just one of those things were it is what it is and they are never going to get along?
Any advise is much appreciated thank you

I'm not a Gouldian breeder, but often when there is fighting, it is because the male and female aren't on the same breeding cycle. He may be ready to breed, but she isn't.

Welcome to the forum! There's lots of good reading at http://www.finchinfo.com, where you will find many articles on finch care and especially the Gouldian finch. If you put your general location in your profile, it makes it easier to answer questions later on.
