Hi all,
A couple of months ago I had posted an image of one of my male gouldians who had this bald-ish ring around the back of his head and some dry, flakiness to the beak (thread can be read here)
I touched base w/Larraine and she diagnosed scaley mites, so I had been treating for that with S76 for several weeks. Plus, my crew had been going through their molt, so he's been eating eggfood and Feather Fast supplement to try and aid with the rough appearance (Larrained ok'd this). However, he hasn't improved. He did look like he was getting better for a while, but now he looks worse than ever before; feathers look patchy, espeically in breast area, head/eye/face feathers near beak are thinning out, slight lethargy. His tail feathers look short/stumpy, and he doesn't sing like he used to.
So I'm wondering if anyone has a clue what could be wrong with this guy. The other 5 birds are doing great, my SF PB Male is just shooting his final pin feathers. This guy is the only one who seems to have not come through his molt successfully like the rest, what could be wrong here?
I guess it's pretty obvious, but I'm referencing the normal male in these photos. The others are there for reference.
It's not scaly mite/molt combo:what's wrong with this gould?

I'm sorry, for whatever reason I could not get the images to upload in the right viewing format.

I'd continue the treatments with s76 including once or twice per week in bath water and the featherfast supplements, pin feathers can clearly be seen around neck and might just require a bit more patience. Maybe add a bit of powdered kelp to the eggfood also and a dish with some charcoal. These should cover virtualy all feather issues.

Thank you Smurf, will continue to treat and hope he just needs some extra time.

All is looking well now, but this guy scared me for a few days there. Not too long after posting this, almost all feathers on top of his head/near eyes were gone, and it quite literally happened overnight. He was bald as could be, though fortunately the skin looked okay and not mite-affected. After a couple of days of looking awful, he exploded with pin feathers all over the head, quite literally happening overnight (just like the feather loss). And he's been singing his heart out all day long, it's incessant. So things are looking promising!

I wanted to post these images for others...
Like I said, my male pretty much lost all his head feathers overnight. He stayed like that for at least a week or so.
He HAS completely regained/replaced the head feathers and is starting to sleek up. So I did just need to wait out a little longer on his molt.
Here are a couple pics of his head when it was bald on top, for reference.
