Balding baby society
Hey ya'll
One of my society finches is starting to go bald. I never see him/her being picked on. Everyone seems to get along. It fledged the nest about 3 weeks ago and it was immediately obvious that it was the runt. Tiny little guy and still is.
I think it's just stressed by the other birds so I put it and another bird in a separate cage. The two of them get along very well. Are there any specific dietary supplements that will help the little bugger recover quicker?
thank you

What I mean is do both parents have smooth feathering on top of their heads or are they crested? Crested is when the head feathers have kind of a swirl to them. Does anyone here have Cresteds so they can show what I mean? Why I was asking was I had read if you bred Crested ones together they can cause balding. Not sure if that is true or not as I have not studied Societies much. Maybe someone els can help you better with your question than I can?
1 Senegal Parrot, 7 Strawberry Finches, 2 Society Finches, 6 Gouldian Finches, 4 Lavender Waxbills, 3 Blue Black Mask Lovebirds, 4 Java Rice Finches, 2 Cordon Bleus and 2 Silkie Ringneck Doves

Yes, I have read this also. I have three crested society finches. I will look for a picture. Can't take one now.....they have all gone to bed.
