diamond fire tail question?

Hello friends i got a male diamond fire tail from my friend, the bird had difficult in flying in my cage, so i got hold of him and checked his belly he has fat deposited in his chest and near the vent, i cant say its much or less, the chest part has more of fat then the vent area, i know this is bad but what would be ideal diet for the him to get rid of this extra fat ,to start with i have raised the perches so he will have some exercise, other thing is the female is in breeding condition so its a bit of confusion to breed or not to breed can they breed in this condition or should i wait till he losses all his fat and then start over again. thankyou

Stop feeding them soft foods until he gets back in shape
