I really do hope for you that they are fertile and hatch out but to be onest that is just a bit to quick for my rekoning and I get the feeling that there gonna some how be clear eggs,

Unless the cock bird was in absolute top breeding condition and was highly rank I think it's just simply to short a time,

Sorry to be the barer Sharon but this is just my personal thought from experience

In that picture you have a BH.WB.Green (BlackHead.WhiteBreast.Green body) and a BH.PB.Pastel (BlackHead.PurpleBreast.Pastel) The Pastel mutation prevents the color black from appearing so any normally black areas are white.

Congratulations on the eggs and best of luck

Stuart whiting These 2 bred at their previous home a few days before I picked them up on Wednesday. I am still not holding my breath for a successful clutch because mom and dad have been juggled around a lot over the last few days. They are being very attentive to the nest but... Time will tell.

@debbie276 Thanks for the breakdown of the colors!! I'm still learning these gorgeous little birds :)

So, the gouldians ended up tossing their nest and I have no idea what happened to the eggs. I guess they ate them because there is no trace of them and they are in a cage on my predator proof back porch. I didn't really expect much out of this clutch after all of the juggling they went through in moving them from one home to another. They are busy dancing and singing to each other and they both keep hopping in and out of the nest so it's only a matter of time. The societies have at least one egg in the community nest and one of the canaries laid an egg this morning and is very diligently sitting tight unless she eats or drinks very quickly. Love is in the air in the new aviary/bird porch. <3

Sharon, sorry about the gouldian egg, looks like the rest of your you're other birds are quite busy. I hope you have good luck with the eggs they are now laying. Sounds like you're birds have a wonderful place to live. =D>

Sorry you lost that one clutch, but it sounds like your Gouldians are in breeding mode, so it won't be long before they have another one.

Thanks everyone! I didn't really have high hopes for the first clutch after the move. They were way too jumpy and jittery to settle down and take care of babies. I'm going to give them another month in their separate cage and if they don't produce eggs, I'm going to move them into the aviary with the 3 other Gouldians. One of the hens in the aviary (RH, PB, GB) has a black beak and he may be just the guy she's looking for!
