Babs
Ok I give it a go but I don't get or understand all the pixel thing, not really photogenic
I just point and shoot with me iPad
Uploaded me birdroom ok but I suppose because I was a distance away from it, not really to sure but just keep tacking different pics from various distances until a pic loads up

Re: plants in flight cages
I used glass "stones", like what they sell for aquariums or filling vases. They have various options on Amazon, or I'm sure you could get them from a craft store or something. They're probably 1.25-1.5" across, kind of disc-like.
I rinsed them well before topping the plants. The perk, I think, of them over actual stones or other things is that they are completely smooth. So washing them when dirty from the soil or bird poop is very easy. They're also non-porous so you could sanitize them with a cleaner if need be without worrying about some staying in the top layer of rock.

I like those glass stones, and they are relatively inexpensive, I got some at Walmart. Didn't think about using them as a topper on plant soil, good idea!

Re: plants in flight cages
Camorrow and Sally, sorry I did not post this earlier, my isp kept shutting down all weekend.
Thank-you both for that idea, I had finished the flight cage last week and posted a picture. I was not sure what I was going to put over the soil of the plants, so I did not put anything yet. I am going to go to michaels and petco tomorrow so I am going to pick up some of those stones, I know which ones you are talking about and I think they will look great and be very practical. I have to take the plants out tmr anyway to give them a good watering and spraying. Thank-you both very much for your help

"Stuart whiting"
Lawdy you sure you didnt break something ??
I'd get and x-ray on that. Get off that foot and let the Mrs. tend the birds!
camorrow
I used to use those stone in my freshwater aquarium. Wow! that is a great idea. With the full spectrum lighting the plants would thrive.
