Madcat's Gouldian Jet protecting the nest video

Post by Babs _Owner » Fri Aug 26, 2016 9:31 pm

Im going in for a water change. He really goes at me @ 58 seconds. Really proud of this boy. He keeps his woman Bubbles feeling very secure. As a result, she hasn't wavered from that nest in 8 days. Not bad for a first time breeding for two born just last year. Madcat, I thought you'd enjoy this progress on your boy! You can hear her in the background chirping to him. He calls softly to her at lights out when he perches outside as she cheeps back to him a bit nervously in the dark. To hear him call to her in the nest in the darkness, lovingly soothing her. One night I admit, it brought tears to my eyes. This couple will never be separated. <3

I'm sure she must think I'm a mobile nest site =))

Have a look at the pic of me foot in the plants in cage thread, now getting peed where I can't do nothing, stupid foot :(

Babs I will do as soon as I can get in there properly, at the moment I'm just about managing to feed them comfortably through the front hatches of me flight,

I need to get in there as soon as poss to clean, I normally do it weekly but has now been about 12 days since I sprained me foot and is still swollen and rather painful and has stopped me from temporarily getting in there :(

Gotta try within with the next few days but the cleanliness isn't to bad anyway as I'm normally very thorough :-BD

You'll be yourself soon. A few weeks is pretty normal on a bad sprain. I know it feels like forever on the ankle. :-W

I promised you I would let you see him! I will make sure I get videos of his progress as he goes. Bill got me a brand new phone just for the occasion. We just ADORE him! <3

She has 6 eggs! Quite a load for these first-timers. But he seems like he is certainly up for the challenge. He's making Ricco Suave (my Brat-whipped male) look BAD! =))

Eggs due to hatch 1-2nd of Sept, next week.
