I've put in a fresh little plate of mashed boiled egg just a few minutes ago, and Bubbles is pigging out on it like a starved turkey, while Jet took his turn in the nest.

Looks like we should be seeing little crops filled with drops of egg by tomorrow! I did a dance all over the bird room!! \:D/ All my finches now officially KNOW I am a nut job!!

Sally Shannylee Stuart whiting

I'm breaking out the bubbly tonight!. Some of you know my deepest goal this year was to have 3 pairs all raising their own. I did a ton of handfeeding last year (wanted to not go through that again). This new young pair had me nervous about their first try.

Be interesting to see the babies color-out given their diverse genetics.
Not sure if I posted this pic before, but here are both the parents Jet & Bubbles.

Madcat

Oh let me tell ya. The whole time they were together in the big 6 foot flight with the other adults, Bubbles was flagging him so hard I feared her helicopter-tail action would catapult her the full 6 feet and into the cage wall. ;;)
